Mulholland Drive Synopsis :

Med søde drømme om en skuespillerkarriere i bagagen lander Betty i Hollywood, hvor hun har lånt sin tantes tomme hus som base i sin søgen efter lykken. Men huset er ikke tomt. En fortumlet og forslået kvinde har søgt tilflugt i bygningen. Hun husker kun brudstykker af nattens begivenheder. Noget med at hun sidder i en bil... at chaufføren sigter på hende med en pistol... at de pludselig bliver ramt af en anden bil. Resten er uklart og tåget. Eneste spor er en pung propfyldt med dollars. Sammen starter de jagten på sandheden. En søgen, der bringer dem i nærkontakt med hårdkogte gangstere, slibrige filmfolk og andre udskud i Hollywoods mørke afkroge.
